Wish List Wednesday

Several weeks ago, I purchased my first big girl camera and I am now addicted. I have lost all sanity and have spent way too much but I cannot stop myself. I have a long list of items that I want to buy yet but I'm just waiting for funds to accumulate a little. I want to purchase one more lens (two currently on the way, hopefully today!!) and a bunch of miscellaneous accessories.

I purchased a camera bag when I bought the camera but I did this without realizing just how much stuff I was planning on purchasing. Well, I now know this bag will not even come close to accommodating everything. It was an inexpensive bag ($30) and I can still use it for when I only want to carry one or two lenses so it was not a complete waste of money.

After spending hours and hours of online research, I have found my dream bag. Way more expensive than I planned on spending, and I'm still debating whether or not I want to spend that much, but I absolutely love it. I find camera bags pretty boring and not very stylish (I'm a stylish kind of gal) and I always wanted to find something that was geared towards females. I also want something that doesn't scream, "I'm a camera bag, steal me!" I found it!!

Her name is Lola. Isn't she beautiful? She also comes in red. You can find her at Epiphanie along with a few other designs. I have been staring at her for days and I think I might go for it. I don't think I have the strength not to and Christmas is too far away to wait!

Wish List Wednesday

I'm always looking for something to make being lazy a possibility. Awhile ago, I posted about a robot that could do ironing for me. Well, this robot can do laundry and mop!

I'm sure if I look around long enough, I could find one that does dishes and clean toilets. Now THAT would be awesome!

Wish List Wednesday

Okay, I'm going to keep this simple because I'm tired and extra lazy today. So, what else is new? Yeah, yeah, stuff it! Anyway, my wish for today is for this crappy weather to improve. For the last two weeks, it has rained almost every day and it is starting to get depressing. The temperatures have been in the 80's (which I'm NOT complaining about) but extremely humid (which I AM complaining about). It's the kind of weather where five minutes after you get out of the shower, you need to jump back in.

Along with the rain has come some pretty wicked storms. In fact, on Monday, a tornado touched down about 30 miles from here and destroyed about 25 houses. By the time it made it's way here, it calmed down a little but we had torrential rain blowing sideways for about a half an hour and it was getting a little scary.

A little side note here. When there are tornado warnings broadcast, please take them seriously. About 10 years ago, there was a tornado warning where I was living at the time. No tornado had ever touched down there in my lifetime so I never really took those warnings too seriously. So, as I was staring out the front window, I started seeing things flying through the air. Apparently, as I was watching this out the front window, a tornado was demolishing my neighbor's garage and ripping a part of the roof off his house. The only damage I had was a crack in the garage window. Our garages were only separated by about 20 feet.

It was a pretty amazing and creepy thing to see all the destruction a few feet from my untouched house. In the seconds that it went through my head that, uh, maybe I should go down to the basement, it was over. I was very lucky that day and learned a lesson from my stupidity.

Well, this post certainly went all over the place. Please excuse my jumbled and rambling thoughts but I did say I was tired. Ugh, and it's starting to rain again!

Wish List Wednesday

This week's item is a yummy one! Knight's Gourmet Popcorn is a Milwaukee based company that sells the best popcorn you will ever taste.

I am drooling just looking at this picture. I'm telling you, it is awesome! I have been a fan for many years. They have been in business in 1952, so they have had plenty of time to perfect their popcorn.

They have numerous delicious flavors to choose from. My favorites are Deluxe Nacho Cheese, Bacon and Cheddar, and Grape. Yes, Grape. YUM!

One word of advice though. The bags are bigger than you think they will be. I bought some last year and it took me several months to eat it. The bag was approximately a foot and a half tall and a foot wide. I'm not kidding. That's a lot of popcorn! If I'm remembering correctly, it was a "Family Size" bag for only $8.99. You definitely get your money's worth. Check them out!

Wish List Wednesday

I found something that I have absolutely no practical use for but I like it!

This is a Slumberjack 'Latitude' 0-Degree Mummy Sleeping Bag. Doesn't it look comfy? Do I really need one of these? Nope. Do I ever go camping? Nope. But it looks all snugly and warm. However, I don't recommend it if you are claustrophobic. That might be a problem. I can just see myself in it for some reason.

Ain't I cute? And really short? And have a really big head? And look remarkably like Angelina Jolie? Anyway, you could also probably cut a hole in the bottom so your feet poke through and use it in the winter as a coat. It looks like it would keep you pretty warm. Just a thought. I like when things have multiple uses. My only concern is what happens if the zipper gets stuck? How the heck would you get out?

Wish List Wednesday

When I was a teenybopper, I would sit in my bedroom and listen to music on the radio. I had a spiffy radio that could also record onto cassette tapes. Remember those anyone? I would then be able to listen to my favorite songs 68 times in a row and dance my butt off. Of course, I would make sure that the door was locked first so nobody could walk in and see me hopping around like a fool. Good times!

I still have all of those cassette tapes (100 or so) but nothing to play them on. I probably wouldn't want to listen to most of what is on them but would love to be able to check them out anyway. Additionally, I have always wanted to somehow save them in a different format since tapes don't last forever.

Well, now I can! I'm so excited about this item and I will be purchasing one soon. I had no idea that something like this existed. What I am talking about is a TAPE2USB.

TAPE2USB Cassette To PC Recorder
This fabulous little item will enable you to download what is on a cassette tape to your computer. How awesome is that?  Now I will be able to hop around like a fool again but this time, I won't have to lock any doors.

Wish List Wednesday

Okay, I am really in love with the item on today's wish list. I found this website a few months back and have wanted to buy something from them ever since. I love to decorate and I'm always looking for something a little different from the norm so when I saw these, I immediately wanted to buy one of each. What the heck am I talking about? Well, I am talking about wall decals. Some pretty awesome wall decals too.

Abstract designs

Animals

Florals

Kids

Glow in the Dark

Writable

Wall Clocks

So what do you think? I think they are awesome! You can get them in a bunch of different colors too. I really want that red clock. Hubby, are you listening? I want the red clock. There are many more designs on the website. Check them out at Dezign with a Z.

Wish List Wednesday

When I was a kid, a favorite pastime of mine was climbing trees. There was an awesome tree in the field behind my house that I spent many hours climbing. I would climb up to my favorite limb, which was a thick but not so sturdy branch, that was parallel to the ground. While sitting up there, I always wished that I could build a tree house in it. Never was my imagination this grand.

Oh, I want one of these! It has 6,000 square feet (that is not a typo) and a restaurant inside! How awesome is that? Unfortunately, it costs about $7 million. So much for that idea.

This one is actually a restaurant but look how cool it is. If I had a tree house that looked like this, I would be a happy camper.

4Treehouse (Lake Muskoka, Ontario)

This is a two-ton, two-story, 410-square-foot tree house that is suspended 20 feet above the ground with steel airline cables. I am in love with the neat light effects.

  God's Treehouse (Crossville, TN)

Now, this is one is the world's largest tree house with ten floors and 8,000 to 10,000 square feet. How is that even possible? Oh, I'm in love. I could imagine myself waking up every morning in this one. Except, I would need maids because I certainly wouldn't to have to keep it clean.

Wish List Wednesday

Have you ever stubbed your toe on your way to sneaking a midnight snack?

Have you ever run into the wall on your way to the restroom in the middle of night because you guzzled too much beer before going to bed? What? Just me? Yeah, whatever.

Have you ever stepped on your poor cat's tail because you couldn't see it while you were creeping around?

Have you ever been walking outside at night when you suddently fell flat on your face because you didn't see that huge hole in the ground? No? Just me again? Well, here is the perfect solution!

Teva Illum sandals

You can now have flashlights on your feet! These nifty sandals have detachable LED lights that attach to the straps. You will now be able to see exactly where you are going. They will be available to purchase May 11th from Teva for $60. You toes and your cat will appreciate it!

Wish List Wednesday

Okay, days are going by way too quickly here. It's Wednesday again. This one is going to be a little different in that it is not something that I can actually purchase. The item on my wish list this week is:

Huh? For those of you who are out of the loop of reality television world, this post is not about wanting government to spy on me. This is about an awesome reality television show called Big Brother. If you are not familiar with my obsession with this show, please read my previous post here. I am not going to confess twice on this topic here! Once was humiliating enough, thank you.

Anyways, I am having Big Brother withdrawals. I have watched all 11 seasons of this show so far and have not gotten bored yet. In my opinion, it is the ultimate reality show. I have to prepare my husband for when I go into a shock coma when this show ends. I'm not kidding! I am that addicted. I'm really not a crazy person, seriously. I just love this show.

So, my wish list item is for CBS to start this show earlier than this summer. Like, tomorrow maybe. Or Friday would be good. Saturday works for me too. Sunday? Monday would be perfect. I said I'm not crazy! You do believe me, right?

I'm going to stop now. Next Wednesday? Okay, bye.

Wish List Wednesday

Wish List Wednesday again! Oh, do I love this item! This is a lazy person's dream! Did I mention that I'm lazy? Yeah, I know, a million times. Anyways, this item is awesome and I really, really want one.

Come on now, who wouldn't want a robot to fold clothes for you? This video is sped up 50 times so it actually took the robot an hour and a half to fold the towels but hey, I've got time to wait. I ain't going anywhere.

What I want to know is if it can be trained to iron too. Now that would be something!

Wish List Wednesday

Time again for another fascinating item from my wish list. O.k., so they are not ALL fascinating. Sorry, I don't want bore you. However, I guarantee this item will only be exciting to me so you might as well leave now. Not that I want you to leave but I'm just giving you fair warning.

Anyways, let me just explain the reasoning behind the item before I tell you what it is. I purchased a new car a few months ago. A car that I am totally in love with I must say but that is not the point of the post today.

2010 Dodge Challenger

If anyone has ever had a black car, you know how difficult it is to keep it clean. See the picture of this shiny, clean car? That's how mine looks for about an hour after I wash it. After that, every little piece of dirt from the road seems to attach itself to my car and soon it looks like I took a ride through a dusty construction site. My last car, which I had for ten years, probably saw soap and water a handful of times (yeah, I know but remember, I'm lazy). This one has visited the car wash on a weekly basis.

So, I've been doing some research on how to try to keep it clean longer. Well, I came across several suggestions to purchase some of these beauties:

See, I told you this wasn't going to be fascinating. I want to purchase some splash guards from the Mopar Super Center. Woohoo!

I'm not thrilled with how they look but I'm even less thrilled seeing all the dirt on my car. It seems to collect on the bottom foot of the car the most so I am hoping this will take care of a majority of it. It will end up costing over $90.00 for two pair plus installation. Why is car stuff never cheap?

So, there you have it. This week's wish list item. Uh, excuse me. Do I hear snoring out there? Hello? Hello? Good night.

Wish List Wednesday

Wednesday, already? Really? Well, that means it's time for another item on my list that I get to share with everyone. Lucky you!

As I have mentioned several times before, I'm lazy. If there is a product out there that will let me continue to be lazy, I'm all for it. One thing that I really hate doing is housework. I don't enjoy washing dishes, dusting, sweeping, mopping, washing clothes, ironing, etc. On the top of that list is vacuuming. Oh, do I hate vacuuming! Well, ever since I saw the following item, it has been at the top of my wish list.

This is a Roomba Vacuuming Robot. What could possibly be better than this? It is a lazy person's dream! You can vacuum your whole house while sitting on the couch eating bon bons. Oh, I'm in love. I don't know if this thing actually works but I would definitely give it a shot.

Wish List Wednesday

It's Wednesday again! Time for another item on my long, long wish list.

For the past few months, I have been thinking about buying a new camera. Not just any point and shoot camera but a NICE camera that takes awesome pictures. The kind of camera that you change lenses and push a bunch of buttons to get that perfect picture. Do I know how to use such a camera you ask? Nope, I don't but I would love to try to learn how. I really like taking pictures but haven't had much luck with the end results.

===================
I'd like to interrupt this post with a crazy woman type confession. When I went to Hawaii, I took over 3,000 pictures (crazy woman confession 1). OVER 3,000 PICTURES! I bought a color printer and enough photo paper to print them ALL out (crazy woman confession 2). Unfortunately, when I started to print some of them, they looked horrible! The sand was green and grass was brown. Not pretty.
===================

Anyway, back to the wish list post. So, since we are going to go to Hawaii next year and I want to have pictures that I can show people, I want to buy a new camera. So, I have my eye on this pretty little thing.

Oh, isn't she beautiful! This is a Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera. It has an 18.0 megapixel CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 Image Processor for awesome quality pictures. It also has 1080 HD video capture technology. There are also a bunch of other features and technical stuff that I am clueless about. ISO 100-6400 (expandable to 12800). Huh? Enhanced 63-zone, Dual-layer metering system, and 9-point AF system. Huh? I'm just starting my research, so I need to educate myself on what all this means before I make any purchase.

Now, for the not so nice part. This camera, for the body only, is selling for $799.99 at Amazon. Holy crap! Now, I know this price is not even close to how expensive cameras can get but I don't think I have spent more than $200 for a camera before. So, this is really expensive to me. And, this doesn't even include any lenses, extra batteries, memory cards, carrying case, etc. By the time all is said and done, we are looking at closer to $2,000-$3,000. YIKES! If I were to purchase something like this, it better last for 40 years!

I think it's time to start saving up for it. Oh, it's so pretty...

Wish List Wednesday

It's time for Wish List Wednesday again, which is when I post about items that are on my wish list/dream list. The following item falls under my dream list.

This house is listed on Realtor.com for sale in Texas. Can I just say that the closet is probably bigger than my whole apartment. That's a little depressing. However, the good news is that the asking price is $3,995,000, which means I only have about $3,994,000 more to save. It's a possibility, yes it is. Anyone know a prince that's availabe? My husband won't mind, honestly.

Wish List Wednesday

Wish List Wednesday will be a weekly post about things on my wish list. There will be a variety of items that range from really cheap to there is no way I will ever have that. So, it's part wish list, part dream list.

The first item on my wish list is this:

This is a Kindle Wireless Reading device that can be found at Amazon. This one has a 6" diagonal screen and can hold 1,500 books. It is currently selling for $259.00. They also have a newer version with a 9.7" diagonal screen, which can hold 3,500 books. This one has a much higher price at $489.00. You can then purchase books and audio books, in addition to subscriptions to newspapers, magazines, and blogs. There's a lot more technical mumble jumble that I won't tell you about because I'll sound like an idiot.

I love this. I have a thing for gadgets and this would be awesome to have, especially when traveling. The only problem is that I haven't read a book in years. Yes, people you read that correctly. Then, why in the world would you even be thinking about buying this you ask? Well, I love reading books. I used to read every single night, sometimes for several hours at a time. However, I have become a television and computer junky. I now find myself having way too many shows to watch and too much to look at online to even have time to crack open a book. I have had the same book sitting on my nightstand for about three years now and I don't think I have gotten past Chapter 2. Pathetic! So, if I were to purchase this, I would actually have to make time to read. That would probably be a good thing.

Anybody out there have one and care to share if you love it or hate it?
